BBC Children in Need 2020
We raised £115.70 for Children in Need and the children spent the afternoon working on activities to help them develop their emotional literacy skills. This involved exploring and extending their vocabulary linked to different feelings and helping them to recognise what they needed to feel to be at their best.

2020 Poppy Appeal
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our poppy appeal. The British Legion were very grateful for your donations, especially as their sales have been particularly effected by the current Covid-19 Pandemic. Sycamore class remembered the events of the war through poetry and wrote some very moving words. Here are a couple of examples for you to enjoy.
'Just One Tree' 2019
On Friday 22nd November 2019 we held a non-uniform 'Dress as a Tree' day in aid of 'Just One Tree', an organisation who plant trees around the world. Each £1.00 raised will buy one tree and marks the beginning of National Tree Planting Week. The Eco Committee decided to support this initiative as the environment is an issue that they feel passionate about and is also very current in the news. St Mary's raised £110.20 - what a wonderful achievement!
St Mary's 'BIG Breakfast'
St Mary's held its first 'BIG Breakfast' on Thursday 17th October 2019. Children came into school early with their families and enjoyed breakfast in our school hall. The event was incredibly well attended and we raised £88.52 for Christian Aid. Everybody said they really enjoyed it too!
